Linux Distribution Tutorial and Resources

LinuxThis seems to be a good page for people who have never tried Linux, and are interested in learning a little about it. It answers questions such as "Which Linux Distribution is Right for Me?" and also has comparisons among different distributions, as well as links to about 100 different distros. The most significant factor in choosing a distro for the first-time user would probably be ease of installation and use. In any case, I would recommend having a spare computer when you make the attempt, just as I did when I started using the Red Hat distribution, and then Slackware. Slackware is not recommended for beginners; And now I understand why.

If one is interested in numbers and statistics, the Linux Counter project estimates 29 million users of Linux at the present time.
