Lose Anything?

HumorThis was cute. I have a link on my personal website to Feed My Starving Children. It had been a while since I visited their site, so I thought I'd take a quick look. This is an organization that ships food around the world to help feed people. They have volunteers come in to help package. As I scrolled through their site, I noticed this little tidbit:

EAGAN LOST AND FOUND
Eagan Site Volunteers: If you left any personal items at the Eagan site, please pick them up by October 1 or they will be sent to Haitian orphans.
Thank you.

 A Chuckle

I know what you mean. I actually laughed out loud, which got me in trouble with my boss. Not because I was surfing the web at work, but because my occupation is that of a  depressed mime. Fortunately my boss couldn't say anything, but only gave me a stern look of warning.

Since there's already a thread that mentions a non-profit organization, I'd like to take a moment to mention Covenant House. I had never heard of them until two days ago. I received something in the mail from them. It was a letter talking about their program, a donation envelope, and they also included a cross which could turn into a necklace when worn about the neck. I gave the cross to someone who is more Christian than I, and because I'm quite stingy, rather than donating money, I put their link on 3 sites I help with (or can crack into), and added about 15 pages from their site to the StumbleUpon directory. I was going to ask Jos if she'd add it to the directory here, but somehow I got tired. I only slept for 10 minutes, but had a dream which took place over a 3000-year span, and because sometimes it only takes 5 minutes for me to forget where I last placed my keys or lighter, I had completely forgotten to mention or ask her about adding the latter link I loosely listed last. Many people hope that someday I will forget to use my dry with also, however, forgetting how to tell a joke is like having sex while riding a bike, it's something one never forgets. I'm surprised I never see elephants getting busy on bicycle, because I've heard they have really good memories, but are only afraid of running over a mouse while peddling to the store to get a bag of peanuts to feed to the visitors at the zoo when the visitors get hungry from glaring at edible but endangered species. Elephants are most enlightened and evolved; I hope to become one when I reach puberty.

 Covenant House description

My memory escaped me once again, but I managed to recapture and arrest it. Here is the almost-forgotten-about description from the Covenant House About page.

Covenant House is the largest privately-funded childcare agency in the United States providing shelter and service to homeless and runaway youth.

They must be very saintly. One day someone offered to make me a saint, but I misunderstood; they only wanted to sanitize me. I wish all the workers at the sewage treatment plant would leave me in peace.
