International Meeting to Prepare for Flu Pandemic
Published on 09/15/05 at 21:30:15 GMT by Andy Alkaline

World News..."It's a file that the world is facing. Not just Canada. And to do it in isolation makes little or no sense. A global issue . . . warrants a global response. And that's the key point with the minister."

Dosanjh is expected to formally announce the meeting later this week.

Health ministers from more than 20 countries will be invited, as will international organizations crucial to any pandemic response - the World Health Organization, the UN's Food and Agriculture Agency and the World Bank.

Countries on the invitation list include the United States, Russia, Brazil, India, China, Britain, France, Germany, Australia, Mexico, South Africa and Vietnam.

There has been a proliferation of meetings of late on the issue of pandemic influenza. This week alone has seen a meeting of officials from Global Health Security Initiative (the G-7 countries plus Mexico) in Mexico City and a massive gathering of scientific experts and public health authorities in Malta...

Andy, I was having a bug in my admin approve articles section (don't get to use that section much because few non-admins around here ever publish articles), so when I was trying to fix the bug, when testing my fix, I accidentally deleted the wrong article. It was your followup to this article.

I'm very sorry... Can you post it again?

Oh and also there is a bug in the front page articles display with the UBBC tags. If the article has a beginning UBBC tag and not the closing one, it makes the whole column bold, italic, or whatever the tag is. I was fixing it a while back but wandered off doing something else and never got back to finishing it. So that's why I keep removing your italic tag in case you wondered.

I should just set your status to autopublish. Would that be okay with you?

Yes, Okay, and Yes. I don't know how long I'll keep posting things, but until I fall asleep or start forgetting to read the news, having auto-publish may save time. :)

Okay you're on.

I like to post something every day because I like to see those little orange boxes on the "Archives" calendar in the left block get filled in. But I get too busy programming sometimes and forget to post stuff. Every time I see something that looks like it would be neat to add, I save it to my browser favorites. If I see something particularly neat, I just break off whatever I was doing and add it right away sometimes. Usually I find stuff when I'm trying to look up things about coding.

I see the text ads are picking up the content really real, and quickly, for the bird flu topic. I'm surprised.

Right now it has:
Birds Flu?
Free Dictionary Toolbar
Prepare for Bird Flu
Avian Flu

Wow that's good.
