Sometimes an innocent a simple question can lead to a circuituous and long discussion. One of those seems to be the one posted by Michael McLaughlin on Feb 01, 2005: "I am curiouse to know why google changed there 'law' and now allows websites to display more than one google ad [unit] on [a] webpage. [...] " I posted my idea what to with it now, the ghost of Malthus' law of Diminishing Returns appeared... (i.e. "combining a fixed input - for example land - with a variable input - labor - will eventually depress incomes" ), also in it's modern form: "if one factor of production is increased while the others remain constant, the overall returns will relatively decrease after a certain point." The underlying feeling remained: "... it's not clear what that really means", "I don't know what this means ..."
So I generated a set of test pages. They do not have an elaborate design, I kept it as simple as possible. They all use the same article by Michael McLaughlin about Google's PageRank and display ads in different configurations: from a minimum of one text ad up to three image ads or fifteen text ads.
