This is quoted from the questions beginning a thread at Webmaster World:
"There are lots of directories on the Web and I've been wondering how easy it is to set one up. What are the options for building your own directory? What kind of software do you need? Can you build one from scratch yourself? What are the advantages of cloning an existing directory (Dmoz, etc)? I'm really just starting to think about it, so any useful pointers would be helpful."

Sorry (sometimes the Visa logo gives the wrong impression) all they want is: Member Name, Real Name, Password, Email Address, and they say "We do not accept free emails addresses such as yahoo or hotmail"
Visa logos scare me

I don't really understand the visa option there at Webmaster World. Sometimes I can get in there and sometimes not it seems. They might log an IP block when a person joins because I did join before but I did not log in to read the thread. It said I was Guest.
SiteLibrary has #6 of today at 3Apes - "Create Your Own Search Engine and Directory With PowerSeek SQL". I went through the evolution from TurboSeek (same people) and got a discount on the new release. It's not the greatest, but I think we might go with it, not sure. It's not installed back yet here at sitelibrary.net.
