World NewsI would like to express my condolences and sympathy for Spanish people and for other nearby Europeans. Your countries over there are situated about like our states in the U.S., not that far apart. When the terrorists hit on the East coast of the U.S., we suffered for it out here on the West coast 3000 miles away. So people all around Europe are probably feeling what happened in Spain last Thursday. As surely are people the world around.

Something like that changes us in ways that aren't that easy to get over. Even after a couple of years I still think about it and worry every day about it happening again. I've had CNN news on almost 24/7 since Sept. 11 2001 and always pause and listen when it sounds like something else bad might have happened.

It's so sad to see all those good honest people have such a horrible thing happen to them on their way to work in the morning. How anybody could do something like that few of us will ever understand. Our only hope is that we will catch most of the terrorists eventually and teach them that the world isn't going to just sit back and let a few murderous bullies decide how it is going to be for the rest of us.

I'm very sorry for your loss and sadness.
