Nah, why bother? If people don't register, mostly likely they aren't interested enough to come back anyway. And most of the actual useful information on the site is not in the member profiles.

It means "public" as in "not logged in", so that everybody can see them, member or not. I see what you mean, though. It's pretty easy to sign up and see the profiles.

Because login is automatic there is no point to keep them private or do I miss the point of the question ?
