Yes I tried it. I have a script built in that I use for this weblog here. Not sure if it shows up on your end or not. I'll check it out.

It does show up. I didn't know what it was the first few times, but I started using it shortly after I started submitting articles to the main page.

Yes, it's kind of a funky script I have been using for it - Don't think it was really designed as the way I am using it. Usually it works though. Sometimes it hangs or comes back with strange ping error messages. It's a handy little thing. Probably I should finish it one of these days.

Works okay most all of the time for me. I think only once it errored out.

Cool, then you've been lucky. Plus some of the weblog pingable sites seem to have improved their methods. The problem with our ping script is that if it hits one that doesn't send back the expected response, then it errors out right there and skips all the rest. So it needs to be changed to do one, check the response, do another, and so on. Plus it's not translating the info it receives back properly as you probably noticed. It outputs something like hash: xxx with some numbers and characters that mean nothing to me. Means I don't have it set up the right way.
