Announcing new website AudioWavesPlus.com Posted on 12/21/05 at 16:06:09 GMT |
AudioWavesPlus.com built over the weekend and still gradually evolving. Free templates at www.SiteKreator.com look good, free hosting up to 10MB also. Now, I am trying to find ways to get traffic, links, and pagerank. Any suggestions? http://www.AudioWavesPlus.com

Wow that's neat... really cool looking site. I'd say just wait until Google does it's next update, and you will get some page rank then. Best thing to do before then is to try to get some links in from related sites on topic about autos and car sound, auto accessories, things like that. I'd think you could find quite a few places to put a link to your site, at other related sites that list resources on the topic. Looks like a good car audio resource to me.

Yes, Jos, what's the deal with that broken link? I just tried it myself and I think either the link is corrupt, or the Internet is broken, probably because I deleted "The Internet" from my Windoze desktop.

LOL Andy, you deleted the internet? Smart thinkin! : ) Thanks guys for the info about the FOAF link being no good anymore. I hadn't checked it for awhile. Too bad so many of those types of things are going down. I already took the Plink off my sig last time, when that was down. GeoFan, there is no set schedule for Google PR updates, and actually they seem to be doing them much less often in the past year or so. There's one article Here that tells of a site that shows a history of all updates Google does of various kinds including PR updates. That might help you get a rough idea. Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the replies! All I want for Christmas is to see audiowavesplus.com in GOOGLE! The website went live a week ago, additions and changes were made during the week. NOW, I've got GOOGLE questions... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=audiowavesplus Shows only three items, upon inspecting the google cache, all of them state: ... These terms only appear in links pointing to this page: audiowavesplus What gives? Most pages, in my experience, show up on Google within a few days. Forums, blogs, etc. often get updated and they show up on Google within a day or two. I've joined several subject-related forums and posted "New member intro" postings, with a link-exchange posting. I've listed here on the SiteLibrary directory with a back-link (not showing up there yet.) I've listed on a half dozen other related directories, GOOGLE-listed ones, big and small... I've even used the Google website submission page... at http://www.google.com/addurl.html I'm using TITLE, KEYWORD, and ALT tags, I've added text links, and I've also included text on the pages that use the keywords. I realize that PAGERANK is only updated about once a month, but... all I want for Christmas is to see my home page in GOOGLE! I'd expect GOOGLE would have found my home page by now... why not? Any comments or suggestions?

They probably have found your page, but have not finished indexing your site yet. SiteLibrary had the same note for quite a while, months even, after we went live. It can take awhile to get fully indexed. Once the search engines find something and index some pages in your site, you will find them visiting more often, and yes, updating when you make changes. More so when you have a dynamic site that is likely to have frequent changes and/or content added. I'll try to get in and see about your submission if no one else here gets to it first. I've been tied up with some Perl programming project and have let this place go while being distracted by this other thing. I am about done with that other project now so will be back here in coming days to start trying to get things back into tow a little bit more around here. Sorry for taking so long.

Re: Announcing new website AudioWavesPlus.com Posted on 12/28/05 at 22:38:24 GMT |
GeoFan, I found your backlink on http://audiowavesplus.com/audiowavespluscom_links_page.html , but it was submitted as being at sitecreator. That's not good for your PR either as you need to focus all your traffic on the same domain. Also you should set your pages up so that all the links point to www.audiowavesplus.com (don't leave out the www like some of your links are now). Then, if you can on your server use mod_rewrite (maybe not with sitecreator), make an .htaccess file that redirects all hits that do not include the www to redirect permanent to the "correct" URL, including the www. This will help with the rankings for your site because some search engines see with/without the www as two separate pages with the same content. That's not good for PR to have that happen.

If you're still looking for suggestions, you'll find some very good tips in this article I wrote, very straightforward, easy-to-follow instructions, though some of the steps are illegal, and could put you in prison for 20 years to life. Incoming and Outgoing Link Optimization
