Hi Rizal,

The phrases, such as the footer phrase as you mention, are in the cgi-bin/lang/english.lng file. I think you can change just about any of them except for the first three for admin, guest, and moderator. I don't advise changing those, especially not the administrator, because there are places they are programmed in to some features.

Be careful not to miss any of the quotation marks or semicolons when you edit the language file, or it will cause problems.

The passwords are all encrypted by server methods. I don't really understand how they work, but it seems to work well.

I looked at your site today and was surprised at how much you've already gotten customized. Looking good.

Hi Rizal,

The usergallery picture album mod is HERE, and you can see it in use HERE (except the slideshow there is not part of usergallery), and other places too.

You'll have to fiddle with your email sending. Make sure you have the sendmail path right (ask your host). If you still have problems, there is a small fix that needs to be applied to some setups. I have it around here someplace. I think it's in the WebAPP forums someplace too, but probably hard to find.

Yes, that is a new problem that was found when Perl came out with a new version, which you apparently have on your server. Our server here still has the older Perl version, so fortunately I haven't had to deal with that problem.

I'll put a fixed copy up in the downloads section.

Hi Rizal,

I put the changed files HERE . For using the new 9.9.1 version of WebAPP, all occasions of "lock" needed to be changed to "hold", and all occasions of "unlock" needed to be changed to "release".

That's probably all that was wrong, and I think I got all of them changed in those new files. You can just upload them right over your other usergallery files.

hey Jos, is it true that imags uploaded in cgi-bin cannot be accessed??

The images for Usergallery mod wont come out. Instead, i got internal server error. tried chmod and stuff but it still wont load.

Another thing is that, i cant approve the pending pictures. It says,

Cannot open file /home/vhosts/abc.freetohost.com/cgi-bin/mods/usergallery/db/1.cat

Theres really no such file distributed with the mod. Do i have to create one?

Really sorry to trouble you.

Hi Rizal,

First of all, don't ever be sorry to trouble me. I enjoy these things.

I'm not sure where you are with your usergallery. First it needs categories created, then images uploaded through the script so it records the information. There are a few particulars that need to be adhered to, such as file size, file name, and image file extension type. File size can be set in the script. I think the default is 150kb.

There is a small modification that needs to be done on some servers if the file uploads get corrupted. That is usually only for Windows servers from what I've seen.

Some servers allow images in the cgi-bin, others don't.

There's a lot to know. One step at a time, though, and it is not at all impossible.

Hi Jos,
     this is where my directory is
        abc.freetohost.com/cgi-bin/mods/usergallery

     I think my server does not allow images in my cgi-bin. Tried to upload other images and theres still an internal error.

      Theres lots of things wrong with the Usergallery mod. One, when i create a few albums n tried to rename one of them, the rest follow suits. try checking it out foryourself...

Hi Rizal,

Do you have images in your /cgi-bin/mods/usergallery/gfx/ ? First thing I noticed was that those are missing. They are the ones on the first page when a regular member goes to usergallery. Let me know if there are images there because that would be a test to see if images work in your cgi-bin.

Also look in /cgi-bin/mods/usergallery/db/ to see if there are some files in there like 1.cat, 2.cat, etc.

I remember now when I set up usergallery I had a couple of problems. One of them was the /cgi-bin/mods/usergallery/config.dat first line. For that file I have:

$config_vers = "0.9.9.4";
$mod_name = "User Gallery";
$mod_vers = "1.5";
$mod_desc = "User Gallery Mod for WebAPP.";
$mod_admin = "1";
$admin_name = "admin.cgi";
$lang_support = "1";
$mod_lang = "english.dat";
1;

The line that bothered mine was the $config_vers . If that is right, you should be able to set the rest from the usergallery admin panel.

You might have a path or permission wrong. First let's see what you find in your usergallery folders on your web site server.

I advise setting the uploaded images path to /images/usergallery/ on the server. I have my /gfx/ and /pending/ in there. It's usually a good idea to keep images out of the cgi-bin if possible.

Here's my usergallery.cfg file:

# config file for User Gallery v1.0 #

# you should not have to modify anything below this line #
$usergalleryurl = "$scripturl/mods/usergallery";
$usergallerydir = "$scriptdir/mods/usergallery";
$usergalleryimagesurl = "$imagesurl/usergallery";
$usergalleryimagesdir = "$imagesdir/usergallery";
$usergalleryadminurl = "$usergalleryurl/admin";
$usergalleryadmindir = "$usergallerydir/admin";
$usergallerydb = "$usergallerydir/db";
$usergallerygfxurl = "$imagesurl/usergallery/gfx";
$usergallerygfxdir = "$imagesurl/usergallery/gfx";
$adminurl = "$usergalleryurl/admin";
$admindir = "$usergallerydir/admin";
$languagedir = "$usergallerydir/language";

It has the paths set to use the main WebAPP path to the images folder, so it's probably not in the cgi-bin. We'll see.

It was so long ago when I installed usergallery that I can't quite remember all of it now.

Sorry for taking so long to update on my progress. I've just done what you ask me to do and evrything is working. Just that, whenever i create a new album, i must manually create a *.cat file. Is there anyway i can bypass doing that.

I was thinking of creating 10 *.cat files and pre-upload it just in-case someone wants to create an album.

** Editted: The *.cat file is now automatically created and deleted. I forgot to chmod the folder to 777.

Anyway, this may sound quite stupid but I have not yet be able to figure out how to give admin access to my members.
