Any way to even out the sides of the portal page?

The right hand side is totally lopsided against the left hand side.

I tried to log out so I could see how uneven it might be, but I can't seem to log out! I think I'll go fix that first...

There that should be a little better. I moved the OPML over to the left.

I'll be doing more with the front pages later on.

The whole thing keeps getting too long.

I think when logged out it should be approximately the same now though. So people don't find out about it until they join.

That's true. I just joined, and I just found about it.

The left and right columns are below, and in the same table as the news summaries on
http://www.sitelibrary.net/community/

to be more specific.

??? I don't understand.

Do you mean they are just way longer, or are they getting out of alignment or something?

What browser are you guys using?

I'm using Firefox 1.06 on Linux.

Instead of the left and right columns being at the sides, they are at the sides, all left and right aligned with the recent news posts. So there is a gap on left of the table all the way down. And this does make the page wayyyyy longer.

Oh wow, I didn't know it was having that issue. I bet you're using the "anonymous" theme, the default?

I'll definitely need to check this out. I was wondering what was scaring people away as soon as they signed up. Thanks for letting me know about it.

Andy, try using the Developer theme for now, until I get it fixed.

Yes.

You're welcome. I like to complain.

I switched and so far all looks well. Thanks for giving me a fix. I needed a fix pretty bad.

LOL me too.

Don't worry, I'll get that Anonymous theme problem fixed up ASAP. That's a big one.

It happened because of some of my "optimization" ideas, some of those ideas that get implemented in a partly-finished form and then forgotten about. I have a different page working for Guests - was planning to get all the "if $username" off of it. Oh well now it's a mess so I'll have to fix it somehow.

Yes, the Developer theme seems fine to me too.

But I could see how a new member, upon joining, logs in and sees the theme issue. First thought I would have if that happened to me would be "well I guess they don't care about things much here, so bye". That would be before I knew anything about being able to change themes just to get the page looking right.

I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but it must be horrible. Well actually I'm afraid to look, still to early in the day for me : )

I see your point.. couldn't you just disable it and make the developer theme the default in the meantime?
