As according to the Poll Results, in an unprecedented overwhelming vote by members, we will discontinue allowing animated banners in the portal system.

The following two banners have been removed from rotation:

(134 hits to date)

(19 hits to date)

The information is saved here in the event that the affected members may wish to resubmit an un-animated version, upon which time the existing information can be added back to the rotation system.

Here's a screenshot of the vote as it stands right now. The new vote all polls feature doesn't yet provide for locking only one poll, so it might keep getting voted on.
