India Map Posted on 10/03/05 at 17:09:51 GMT |
Somehow I get a chuckle out of this map . Also the way it is situated, it makes India look like a very dynamic position on the map.

I suppose it's blinking because it's relevant to the rest of the site somehow? I like that flash method of displaying the map.

Yes it is a nice display method. I wasn't fully aware of the shape of India's boundaries, or it's position in that region. Looking at it from here, it's at a different angle in my mind, so it seems more rounded and way off there in the East someplace. Looking at it from the angle of that map, it is rather diamond shaped, bigger by far then most other countries on that continent or on Africa, and in a very strategic looking position relative to those other countries. I'm not surprised we have been hearing so much from India. I do find it strange though that we in the US don't hear much about India on the news. That is a very ingenious way the people from that website have those resort properties set up, by the way, from architectural design to amenities and included services. Very classy. The reason I found it kind of funny when I first saw that map, I should explain, is that the blinking word "India" and the animated arrow pointing to it remind me of the way that webmasters and SEOs from India seem to like to really emphasize the fact they are from India. I often see descriptions like "India SEOs promoting India web sites in India. We are in INDIA." And the title would be "India SEO India search engine India optimization India" (just an example) Sorry to those from India who may read this, for teasing about it. I like India.

Sounds like you're knowledge of geography is on a par with mine. That's one subject I never cared for much in high school; that added to the fact I never made it past the tenth grade.

Then that was what the chuckle was for. I hadn't seen those "descriptions" you mentioned. It's nice to know that you're not insane, Jos, laughing at things depending on the amount of dust particles in the air at the time.

She is you know; Jos is a very sensitive person, it's what all the federally imprisoned inmates have been telling me; the ones you served time with for that bank heist several years back so you could afford to keep site library and bantychicken going. Of course she was very polite during the heist, always said "please," and "thank you" while surreptiously brandishing a deadly weapon which she never would have used. A clean fork, carefully placed on a non-bloodied napkin, keeping her elbows off the bank tellers counter the whole time, eating twinkies with her mouth closed, while bank tellers offered her ho-hos as a bribe to leave them in peace so they could go home to their bathroom where they have bars on their shower stall so no one will steal or attack them for soap, shampoo, and the inevitable pink bubble bath which I am so fond of myself, due to my *own* sensitive nature and smelly underarms. Just remember not to call them "Native Americans," they hate that almost as much as steretyping and generalization, and using the pronouns such as "they" while referring to them and misspelling words, malforming sentences, and using poor punctation while talking about bank heists. In all serious, to keep in the spirit of non racial relations, neither myself, nor Jos, as she stated means any offense. Anyone reading her forum posts could attest to the fact of her good nature and ethical values, and sincerity.

Never thought of it, but I guess that is why they called that ocean over there the Indian Ocean. India juts way out almost halfway to the middle of it. (I'm looking at my globe now, not that map.) India really is in a very strategic location. I expect to be hearing more about them in coming times. If you can visualize the county of India from the perspective of viewing from where I am located on the West Coast of the northern part of the United States, you might be able to see India in the conceptual view as I have been seeing it. From here, looking directly at India, is it rather Nimbus cloud-shaped. Whereas looking at India in a North-South fashion, from the South out in the Indian Ocean, it is actually diamond-shaped.

I see that I might have made my words wrong; I didn't mean to imply you had a tenth grade knowledge of geography. That probably didn't read like that, but I better be safe!

No, more like the knowledge of one who has been out of school too many years. Those things fade after awhile. For some of those things they teach us, it doesn't even take awhile.
