popular directory?

Dear Members,
I was thinking about how to make sitelibrary.net a popular directory?
My Views:
by listing it in other directories/search engines?
By inviting editors?

These are good ideas. Submitting to other directories we can do now. I keep trying to think about making the editor dashboard so we could have more editors, but have not yet looked at it very much. We could invite other editors here to the community ?
That's a good idea to start a thread about how to get SiteLibrary to be more popular. Maybe we can think of some more ideas.
There is a Web Awards plugin for this portal system that I want to install and try out some time soon. That would be a fun thing to have.

We also have to keep in the mind the fact that whatever topic we submit it to has to be good for the not only the directory but also the Booksmarks Parking Directory (not liking that name by the way its to easy to get confused with the regular directory) and the Link Collector's Community.
As for adding editors to the actual directory, working on it, approving sites, etc, like Jos said...that's not really available right now. We only have one level of security at this point in time but hopefully we will be able to get to a point where we can add more.
At this time I don't think any of the management can afford the 40-300 dollars the directories are charging for inclusion in their directory. And even then some of them only guarantee you that they will look, not that they will add you.
Currently we are, at me anyways lol, am submitting SiteLibrary to various directories. We are listed in some but I honestly can't remember exactly which ones. I know for sure we are listed at JoeAnt.
If we keep plugging away with the Google ranking, perhaps directing it more towards the actual directory, we can raise our ranking at Google, Yahoo, etc etc etc. Making us more popular.
It's a great idea to invite editors to the community though! We do need to come up with some kind of challenge or contest though to entice the current members to participate. I have a few ideas for prizes but none for the actual contest.

Here's where I try to keep my site submission notes, in the Wiki under SubmissionNotes .
Of your list, Esemji, we are in JoeAnt and Gimpsy. I submitted to Yahoo and Open Directory, but we never are there every time I check. Maybe someday...

Dear Members,
I agree with Crystal, we can not effort to spent 300 $, we can always avoid it.
The world has become a materialistic, everybody is after money (except very few like our community), they are more interested for listing of their business site in directory (which can give them a business), so to popular our directory we must first concentrate on directory.
Other point is to find out the most popular key words (by which we can make out the popular site) and by adding that sites (having popular key words) in www.sitelibrary.net, our directory would notice by public and they will come forward to list their sites in our directory, so that we can have more hits.
For inviting editor: They must have some incentives and motivation like the credit for editing, maintaining category, banner publicity something like that, then people will come forward to Join the community and directory.
Please note that these are my personal views, I may be wrong.

Please do not repeat the listing request at yahoo and ODP, because some time they take up to 6 months for listing the site, I have read this thread in ODP forum. And if we request them again, and the listing is pending they avoid the listing or it will get more delay.

We have a place where we can keep submission notes so we don't duplicate each others' efforts: SiteLibrary: Wiki: SiteLibrary/SubmissionNotes for displaying all the notes and
HERE is where the notes can be actually posted.

It's easy, you just type in the box and click the submit button.
But you start a thread for it here if you'd rather.
I'm afraid to do any submissions because I don't want to duplicate and make them think we are spamming, know what I mean?
