Character counts Posted on 12/05/05 at 21:11:10 GMT
I would like to suggest that we add the same character count mechanism on the public site submission page as we have on the editors side of the directory. This will help owners, etc know when their submission is over. This will let them determine what keywords are more important than others not us.

Yes that would be nice. Actually I intended to do that after I made the script for it, but I forgot all about it. Right now it will cut them off if they go over the limit, doesn't it? Or maybe I removed it. I remember now it was bothering me because it wouldn't let me put the cursor in the middle of it or something like that. I'll check it out.

It let's the submittor go over the limit when submitting from the public side never letting them know they are actually over the limit.
It also let's you go over the limit when submitting from the editor side but on the editor side it counts down for you and when you go over that limit it goes -12 -13 etc etc.
Yes if one counts each keystroke they'll know but honestly...who even does that?
