I know this has been discussed before somewhere (in what thread I have no clue) and I thought it had been fixed but I must of been mistaken.

The list of Newest Listings shows the date it was submitted not the date it was approved.  Is there a way to make it show the date approved?

Yes, I'm aware of that. The newest submissions display is revamped in that it now actually shows the newest approved rather than the newest submitted. So that makes the dates more obvious because they are not likely to be in order anymore. I haven't yet delved into changing which date it queries for before displaying the list.
