Hold Category Posted on 08/04/05 at 08:39:30 GMT |
How about creating two new sub-cats in the "hold" category: -"Premium" obviously to hold those premium submissions that aren't. -"Non-English" for those sites waiting for a human translation because the online ones don't work.

That would speed things up when it came time to go through those. Sounds good to me.

I know what I've been doing is every so often is I take note of what dates each of us is currently processing, then go through the waiting premium listings and send them back if that date has been, or is currently being, processed. But it would help any editor that is processing the non-English listings to not have to go through all those premium listings just to find them.

For sure. It helps things go along faster with most anything if it's possible to focus on only one thing at a time. How about having one for DNS sites too?

Except one thing I just realized - We have all those subcategories in there for all the top level cats. Maybe we don't even need those, as long as we put a note on each site regarding where that site came from.

As long as we include the full path of where it came from AND the reason it's in there then that shouldn't be a problem separating them by reason instead of area. I know I have come across many sites in hold that I have no idea why they were there to begin with.

I know. There are a bunch of them in "no man's land" in there. If you see they are premium, you will know it was probably me and why. But I better start being more careful because some of them might actually have backlinks. I haven't been spending a great deal of time looking around for them.

The premium ones are obvious but the other listings that aren't premium I am not sure why they are there. Some have been on hold for 4 months...isn't it time to just decline it?

I'll look later. They probably all need to be gone through and checked over as though they were new sites, by now.
